We've invested £350 million in our staff, facilities and buildings over the last 10 years. It's no coincidence that we attracted 28,000 students worldwide this year (latest HESA data, 2011 / 12).

Over at Clifton Campus TV presenter Professor Robert Winston opened our multi-million pound superlab, the Rosalind Franklin building. It's a multi-use super lab where you can work with up to 200 students sharing ideas and discoveries.

The new Students' Union building on the City site opened September 2013 giving you an exceptional array of social, leisure and well-being facilities. The new building includes 900 student rooms. New facilities include a sports hall, entertainment area, fitness studio, shop, bars, social space - with a feature 20 ft climbing wall - and health centre.

It's one of the best Student Union buildings in the country.

If you enjoy your sport and fitness, then NTU is the place to be. Use our gyms between lectures, or go along to one of our classes for a high-energy work out. There are over 50 sports clubs for you to get involved in. We have plenty of opportunities for beginners and the more experienced to enjoy playing sport and competing against other universities. Our sports teams and individuals compete at the highest levels. We are ranked in the top 20 universities in the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) league.
