It is very important that you know the different words for illnesses. This exercise will help you test your knowledge.

Read the sentence in the box below and then click on the relevant image to accompany it. Mark your answer and then move on to the next question:

If you need to go to a German Chemist to buy something for an injury, for example, it is a lot easier (and quicker!) if you know how to ask for it in German!

In the next interaction, read the ailment written in bold on the left, then select the correct medicine from the list on the right. Mark your answer to see if you are right and then move on to the next question:

"Wie schreibt man das?" or "Wie buchstabiert man das?" = how do you spell it?

In the role-play you will very likely have to say what is wrong with you and how long you have been feeling like that. Don't forget that if the role-play is on the telephone that you should end with "Auf Wiederhören".
